Semináře CC060, C8010 a F7790 se v jarním semestru 2022 konají v níže uvedených datech (zatím) od 14.00 do 16.00 v místnosti 205 budovy B11 na Univerzitním kampusu Bohunice (UKB).

As of attendance: MU study and examination regulations Section 9, paragraph 2: Full-time students are required to attend teaching activities with the exception of lectures and consultations.
Paragraph 6: A student has the right to a minimum of one unexcused absence per semester from compulsory teaching activities in a given course; this does not apply to intensive courses or specially scheduled courses (section 9, subsection 4). In case a student utilizes the right described in the first sentence, he/she must meet in-term assessment requirements or other conditions associated with teaching activities in a given course, if so prescribed. A higher number of absences may be stipulated by the teacher if so permitted by teaching and study-related conditions.
Paragraph 7: A student is obliged to provide a written excuse letter to the faculty Office for Studies justifying his/her absence within five workdays of the teaching activity he/she was absent from.
 
Na téma docházky: Studijní a zkušební řád Masarykovy univerzity Čl. 9, odst. 2: Účast ve výuce je pro studenty prezenční formy studia povinná s výjimkou přednášek a konzultací.
Čl. 9, odst. 6: Studenti mají během jednoho semestru právo na minimálně jednu neomluvenou absenci v povinné výuce daného předmětu; toto neplatí v případě předmětů, které vyžadují blokovou výuku nebo výuku se zvláštním časovým průběhem (čl. 9 odst. 4). Pokud student využije právo uvedené ve větě první, musí splnit požadavky průběžných kontrol nebo jiné podmínky výuky předmětu, pokud jsou pro daný předmět předepsány. Vyučující může stanovit i vyšší počet absencí, pokud to umožňují podmínky výuky a studia daného předmětu.
Čl. 9, odst. 7: Student je povinen písemně omluvit na studijním oddělení fakulty svou neúčast do 5 pracovních dnů od termínu konání výuky, jež je omlouvána.
 
Prezentace by měly splňovat následující kriteria:

TOPIC: Partial atomic charges for peptides
Abstract: Partial atomic charges have found their application in many fields of chemistry. Their concept suitably approximates the complicated electron density to a set of real numbers. In particular, they have found their application in computational chemistry, chemoinformatics, bioinformatics and nanoscience. The most accurate atomic charges are obtained directly from the electron density using the apparatus of quantum chemistry. Unfortunately, this process is extremely computationally expensive, especially for large molecules. For this reason, many empirical methods have been developed over the last 50 years that calculate partial atomic charges in much shorter time. These methods use only the coordinates of the atoms and occasionally information about the bonds between them. Empirical methods have to go through a process of parameterization, where parameters are searched for such that the resulting empirical partial charges are as close as possible to those from quantum chemistry. However, the problem of parameterization, especially in the case of more sophisticated empirical methods and homogeneous sets of molecules, is also computationally challenging and still not fully solved. For this reason, only a few empirical methods have been parameterized for peptides. The presentation will introduce the empirical method Split-Charge Equilibration with parameterized initial charges. TOPIC: Photon-upconversion Nanoparticles as a Background-free Label in Single Molecule lmmunosensing and Bioimaging
Abstract: The rapid detection of low analyte concentrations is of fundamental importance in many fields, including clinical diagnostics, food control, and environmental screening. Among numerous analytical techniques, immunoassays and immunosensors are gaining attention due to the high specificity provided by antibodies and excellent sensitivity provided by different readout techniques. We have employed immunoanalytical techniques to detect a wide range of analytes, from small molecules, through proteins, to bacteria, utilizing various kinds of transducers and labels. Recently, we are focusing especially on photon-upconversion nanoparticles (UCNPs), which are lanthanide-doped nanocrystals that convert near-infrared light to light of shorter wavelengths. We have exploited UCNPs as a label in upconversion-linked immunoassays for the detection of pharmaceutical diclofenac, mycotoxin zearalenone, and honeybee pathogen Melissococcus plutonius. The low background and high photostability make UCNPs a powerful tool for detecting single molecules. We have developed an optical approach for visualizing individual UCNPs and applied it for the sensitive detection of the cancer biomarker prostate- specific antigen.
