Events for the public
Each year, there are several events we have traditionally been engaged in.
Czech European Researchers' Night
Scientist Night is a nationwide event aimed at popularising science taking place in the evening that engages everyone in the inspiring environment of science. Visitors can play, learn, test and try to understand and explore this fascinating world. Physis departments offer a wide range of activities, including visits to workplaces accompanied by experiments, lectures on current research topics, or quizzes and competitions for all ages.

Science Festival
The Science Festival is an event taking place in the Brno exhibition grounds. It introduces both professional and popular science institutions established in Brno. The aim is not to teach, but to inspire and demonstrate that science is here to help us live better.
In 2024, the Science Festival took place from 6 to 8 September. Read for more here. Next year, the event will be from 5 to 7 September 2025.
Days of Electron Microscopy
In 2024, we joined DEM for the first time. It is an event for the general public presenting electron microscopy, its significance, and its contributions. Brno City truly is a metropolis on the world map of electron microscopy. In 2024, the topic was Microscopic Villains.
In the week of 18 - 24 March 2024, the Department of Plasma Physics and Technology, CEPLANT center together with the Botanical Garden presented the following program.
Earth Day
22 April of each year is dedicated globally to promoting and supporting the protection of our planet. At the Faculty of Science this event is organized by the Botanical Garden.
In 2024, the topic at the Botanical Garden was Plant Protection. The event took place in the Botanical Garden on Saturday 20 April 2024. Physics and its relevance for plant protection and groth was represented by the Department of Plasma Physics and Technology and the CEPLANT center.
