František Kundracik – Physical view of Robin Hood's arrow
In this lecture we will discuss the history of the bow and the role of physics in its transformation from a military bow to a hunting and sport bow (longbow, reversible bow, pulley bow, modern reversible bow). We will also learn what it takes to make one arrow hit another arrow (methods of increasing the accuracy of the hit: stabilizers, sights, launchers). The lecture will be accompanied by practical demonstrations.
The speaker is Assoc. Prof. František Kundracik from the Department of Experimental Physics, Faculty of Mathematics, Physics and Informatics, Comenius University in Bratislava.
The lecture will be streaming online through MS Teams from lecture room F2, where you can attend personally and enjoy a cup of coffee. Click the blue button below for more information and a link to the online stream.
