Marek Ruščák: Small modular reactors: the future of nuclear energetics?

The presentation will focus on the potential of small modular reactors (SMRs) as the future of nuclear energetics. Together, we will discuss the rationalization behind the concept of SMRs and their technical characteristics, advantages, and challenges compared to traditional nuclear power plants. The talk will also cover the SMR's potential impact on energy security and energy decentralization.

The speaker Marek Ruščák is from ÚJV Řež a.s, the Nuclear Reaserch Institute in Řež near Prague.

The lecture is scheduled on Thursday, April 11, at 5 p.m. in room F2 at Kotlářská. Traditionally, we will start with an introductory coffee, and the actual lecture will start at about 5.15 pm. At the same time, we will be streaming it online.
