Frederic Jaron: Multiwavelength monitoring of the periodic TeV-emitting binary star LS I +61°303

The gamma-ray emitting X-ray binary LS I +61°303 is composed of a Be star and a compact object. It is detected from the radio until the TeV regime and is also included in the search for neutrinos. Long-term monitoring at multiple wavelengths has shown that the source features periodic emission and that modulation patterns remain stable over decades of observation. In this talk I will present recent results from timing analysis of long-term radio monitoring, which confirms the presence and the stability of a super-orbital modulation. Moreover, the phase of the modulation pattern systematically depends on the observed wavelength across the electromagnetic spectrum. I will discuss how this result is explained by different emission regions in a precessing relativistic jet, which is periodically refilled with plasma along the eccentric orbit of the system.
