Jan Smolek – Dismantling of a car combustion engine

Combustion engine cars still play a significant role in our daily lives. Although the principles of their operation are generally known, the tangible idea and practical experience of most motorists is decreasing with the increasing complexity and reliability of today's technology. For example, did you know that a piston is not perfectly circular but elliptical? Jan Smolko's Physics Café will not be a typical lecture but a hands-on demonstration of the disassembly of an internal combustion engine. You can watch the mechanic at work and look over his shoulder.

The event can inspire teachers who want to combine automotive technology with teaching effectively.
