This year, HAKONE XVIII was held in Abano Terme, Padova, Italy, between 1-6 September 2024. HAKONE brings together scientists and engineers from academia and industry working on fundamental and applied aspects of high-pressure and low-temperature plasma chemistry. The fields include ozone synthesis to advanced oxidation and reduction processes for water treatment and environmental protection, biomedical applications, and material science.
Dr. Richard Krumpolec, Dr. Michal Pazderka, and Lucia Švandová from Plasma Nanotechnologies and Applications research group and Assoc. Prof. Zdeněk Navrátil and Dr. Zdeněk Bonaventura from the Plasma Diagnostics and Modelling research group presented our department's research:
- Richard Krumpolec – Fast low-temperature plasma-triggered self-propagation reduction-exfoliation process of graphene oxide materials (oral presentation) + New linear plasma jet system base on Diffuse Coplanar Surface Barrier Discharge (poster)
- Lucia Švandová – Properties of Cr-doped Al2O3 as a dielectric barrier layer for atmospheric pressure discharges (oral presentation)
- Michal Pazderka – Coplanar dielectric barrier discharge at MHZ frequencies in Argon and Argon/Nitrogen mixture (oral presentation)
