Looking back at Researcher's Night 2022

Science through senses. That was the topic of this year's Researcher's Night. The Department of Physical Electronics prepared practical demonstrations of plasma discharges and experiments with eyesight and hearing. The Department of Theoretical Physics and Astrophysics beckoned the attendees to an audio quiz of outer-space sounds and a touch recognition quiz of space objects.

An experimental workshop on "Sight and hearing" attracted much attention. People filled our largest lecture room, F2, with no problems! DPE Didactics of Physics prepared demonstrative experiments to understand the inner workings of human eyesight and hearing. Assoc. Prof. Zdeněk Bochníček accompanied the experiments with lectures on limiting our vision to only visible light.

The second-floor hall was filled with attendees of the DTPA part of the program. One after another switched places at the Astro quiz, puzzles, and audio quiz. We are delighted that the adults and many families with kids came.

Our DPE Plasma Nanotechnologies and Bioapplications colleagues showed practical demonstrations of plasma discharges used in research and industry applications. This part of the program in building No.7 was eye-catching. Plasma discharges in various forms and colors are beautiful.

With clear consciousness, one can state the event was a success. Organizers were in great spirits, and attendees were leaving with smiling faces. We look forward to seeing you again at the following year's event or any other public event we organize during the year!
