- 27 January 2025 – 17:00 – Jiří Zahrádka: As Janaček I came, as a doctor I returned – .A lecture by musicologist Jiří Zahrádka on the eve of the 100th anniversary of Leoš Janáček being awarded the title of doctor honoris causa, the first honorary doctor of Masaryk University. The composer received his honorary doctorate at the Faculty of Philosophy on 28 January 1925.

Brno Ph.D. Talent Project announced its new winners. From physics at Masaryk University, Areej Fatima was successful in Plasma Physics and Marianna Dafčíková in Astrophysics. Areej works under the supervision of Assoc. Prof. Tomáš Homola at the Plasma Nanotechnologies and Bioapplications research group. In her project, she will focus on developing a g-C3N4-based fabric for photocatalysis in wastewater treatment.

MUNI Scientist Award 2024
MUNI Grant Agency handed out rewards for outstanding scientists, this year also in physics, specifically biophysics. Prof. Robert Vácha, Dr. Silvie Trantírková and Assoc. Prof. Lukáš Trantírek from the Department of Condensed Matter Physics and CEITEC were awarded for the article published in the journal Nature Communications.
