Quantum gravity

Research group at Department of Theoretical Physics and Astrophysics

No description

Leader: Prof. Rikard von Unge, Ph.D.

The group works on various research topics related to fundamental laws of physics in order to find a unified theory of all interactions.
This requires deep understanding of mathematical structures used in theoretical physics as well as studying extensions and generalizations of experimentally verified theories.

Areas of research

  • String Theory - integrability, string sigma models, gauge-gravity duality, Tachyon condensation, pure spinor formalism

  • Loop Quantum Gravity - gravitational waves, possibility of Lorentz invariance violation

  • Supersymmetry and Supergravity - supersymmetric sigma model geometry, extended superspace, supersymmetry breaking

  • Quantum Field Theory - Batalin-Vilkovisky formalism, scattering amplitudes

Group seminar

The group meets on a semi regular basis to discuss and present different topics in Quantum Gravity. More details can be found on its website.
