We cordially invite you to a Department of Plasma Physics and Technology seminary lecture. The speaker is prof. RNDr. František Krčma, Ph.D. from the Institute of Physical and Applied Chemistry, Faculty of chemistry, Brno University of Technology.

František Krčma – Electrical Discharger Initiated Chemistry in Prebiotic Atmosphere

Abstract:

The chemical processes initiated by different discharges in various gaseous mixtures, temperatures and pressures are one of ways how to make laboratory mimics of processes leading to the chemical precursors of life creation. Lecture will briefly present the main theories of life creation and relations of various discharges to naturally observed phenomena. The general concept of experiments will be given after that. Based on information of some deeper known atmospheres from the Solar system the experiments carried out by our group and their results will be presented. Finally, the perspectives for the future research will be shown.
