Pavel Souček joined the MU delegation to Taiwan

Assoc. Prof. Pavel Souček is a leading expert in the preparation and analysis of thin films at the Faculty of Science, Masaryk University. He joined MU’s delegation to Taiwan to discuss the cooperation between Taiwan and MU. The main goal is to promote the exchange of staff, students and joint research in hi-tech areas.

Assoc. Prof. Pavel Souček visited Taiwan universities as a part of the delegation of the rector of Masaryk University. The delegation visited five universities in many days, namely National Cheng Kung University, National Pintung University, National Central University, National Tsing Hua University and Ming Chi University of Technology. They also met with the representatives of the Czech Republic in Taiwan and stopped at the Czech Economic and Cultural Office in Taipei.

The MU delegates were prorectors Dr. Michal Bulant, Dr. Petr Suchý, Vicedean of the Faculty of Science Assoc. Prof. Ctirad Hofr, the head of the Department of Chemistry Assoc. Prof. Petr Táborský, the head of the Department of Geography Prof. Petr Kubíček and Assoc. Prof. Pavel Souček.

Assoc. Prof. Pavel Souček discussed possibilities of staff and student exchanges and join research focused on the preparation and analysis of thin films, one of the leading research topics at the Department of Plasma Physics and Technology and the CEPLANT center. He also discussed the cooperation between Taiwan and Czech university alliances UAAT and ICU that he is coordinating in the STEM field in the Czech Republic.

A Memorandum of Understanding between the Department of Plasma Physics and Technology, Faculty of Science, Masaryk University and the Center for Plasma and Thin Film Technologies, Ming Chi University of Technology was signed. This collaboration is expected to significantly enhance the academic community by fostering a culture of international cooperation and knowledge exchange, and by providing unique learning and research opportunities for students and faculty.
