High-Energy Astrophysics
Research group at Department of Theoretical Physics and Astrophysics
Norbert Werner
Norbert is an astrophysicist, an associate professor (Docent) and the leader of the High-Energy Astrophysics research group in the Department of Theoretical Physics and Astrophysics at Masaryk University.
He is mainly interested in the hot atmospheres of galaxies and clusters of galaxies, black hole
feedback, and in the use of nano-satellites in astrophysics.
Some public outreach is shared on his personal webpage.
Jakub Řípa
Jakub received his PhD at the Charles University (Prague, Czech Rep.). Then he became a postdoctoral researcher in the Ewha Womans University (Seoul, Korea), in the Sungkyunkwan University (Suwon, Korea), in the National Taiwan University (Taipei, Taiwan) and at the Astronomical Institute of the Charles University.
Jakub’s main field of expertise are gamma-ray bursts (GRBs), iinstrumentation for GRB detection and statistical methods for data analysis. He is involved in projects aimed at monitoring GRBs with CubeSats including the CAMELOT and HERMES mission.
